How Firearm Transfers Work
at Magnum Force Gun Shop

Whether you’re buying a firearm online or transferring one from another dealer, we make the process simple, safe, and compliant.

❗ Notes:

  • Handgun transfers in Michigan may require a purchase permit if you do not have a CPL.

  • We do not accept transfers of prohibited or unserialized firearms.

  • All transfers must be picked up by the person listed on the paperwork — no substitutions.

 

🔄 Firearm Transfers at Magnum Force Gun Shop

We will accept your firearm transfer and make the process simple, safe, and compliant. Please read the information below carefully.

📝 Step 1: Arrange the Transfer

  • Purchase your firearm from an online retailer, dealer, or private party.

  • During checkout or shipment setup, provide our FFL information as the receiving dealer.

  • Most sellers will require us to send a copy of our FFL — contact us and we’ll send it directly.

💡 Tip: Before buying online, check with us first to see if we can order the firearm for you. This may save you money, since online purchases include shipping, handling, and transfer fees.

📝 Step 2: Notify Us

  • Please call or email us to let us know a transfer is on the way.

  • Provide:

    • Your name and contact info

    • The make/model of the firearm

    • Who is sending it (seller or dealer name)

  • To speed things up, click the button below and complete our Firearm Transfer Form.

📝 Step 3: We Receive & Process Your Firearm

  • Once your firearm arrives, we will log it into our records and prepare it for pickup.

  • Important: If you receive a shipping notification that your firearm has been delivered, this does not mean it’s ready to pick up. We must process the firearm first.

  • We will call you when your firearm is ready — please wait for our call.

📝 Step 4: Complete the Transfer in Store

  • Bring the following when you come in:

    • Valid government-issued photo ID (Michigan ID or driver’s license with current address)

    • Any required permits (CPL or purchase permit for handguns)

  • You will complete ATF Form 4473 in-store.

  • We will run a NICS background check unless you are exempt (valid CPL, etc.).

💵 Transfer Fees

  • New Firearms (that we stock or can order): $100 per firearm

  • Stripped Lowers: $60 each

  • Used Firearms:

    • $60 per long gun

    • $75 per handgun

⚠️ Please Note:

  • All transfers are sold as-is. Your financial transaction is strictly between you and the seller.

  • We provide no warranty on transferred firearms.

  • Transfer fees and shipping costs are non-refundable.

✅ Final Step: Pick Up Your Firearm

  • Once approved, pay the applicable transfer fee.

  • Take your firearm home with confidence!
